Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of industrial employment on income inequality in developing and developed countries. It covers 18 developed and 19 developing countries from 1999 to 2017 using the dynamic panel econometric approach. The results show that industrial employment is significantly associated with income inequality. In other words, the decline in industrial employment has exacerbated income inequality. According to the results of the model estimation this is higher for developing countries than for developed countries.
