In collaboration with Iranian Association for Energy Economics(IRAEE) and Scientific Association of Defence Economics of Iran(SADEI)

The process of reviewing papers submitted to JIER is peer review and double-blind which means that the reviewer has the necessary expertise to review   the papers,  and in addition, the reviewers and the authors will not know each other's identity.

At first, papers submitted to JIER are checked based on the writing standard accepted by the JIER board of Editors, and then at the next stage, papers  are evaluated in terms of content, innovation and originality of the research by editor in chief or  if necessary, by one of the coeditors and then a decision is made about referring papers to reviewing process.

In the  reviewing process attempt will be made  to select  referees who do not have  conflict of interest or shared interest with the author or authors.

For each paper, two reviewers with expertise matching the content of paper will be selected, and based on the opinion of the reviewers, a decision will be made as follows.

1- If both reviewers approve the paper, an initial acceptance letter will be issued to the author(s)

2- If both reviewers reject the article, the rejection of the paper will be reported to the author(s)

3- If two reviewers agree that the paper needs correction and revision, the paper will be returned to the author(s) for revising the paper according to the comments of the reviewers.

4- If one reviewer rejects the article and another reviewer suggests modifying the paper, a third reviewer will be appointed. If the third reviewer rejects the paper, the result of non-acceptance will be announced to the author, and if the third reviewer confirmed the paper or suggest correction and   revision, then the opinion of all the reviewers, including the reviewer who rejected the paper, will be informed to the author so that he can correct it.

After revising the paper by the author(s) according to the reviewers' comments, a reviewer is assigned to give the final reviewing decision about the paper. If the final reviewer approves the paper, the initial acceptance letter will be issued to the author, and if she (he) rejects the paper, the rejection of the paper   will be reported to the author(s), and if he raises a new comment, the comments of the final referee will be reflected to the author(s) to correct the paper.

After the end of the reviewing process, the editorial board decides to accept or reject the article.
